What computing resources does Pomona ITS offer to students?

As a student at Pomona, you get a lot of nifty free things. These include:

A userspace

You can store up to 1 GB of data on the Pomona network in your personal userspace. This can be very useful for backing up data, or moving it from one place to another. ( More information)

Free printing each semester

Every semester, students are given $10 of print quota that can be used to print to any Pomona printer. This amounts to about 500 black and white pages or 20 color pages. Like all good cellular phone plans, your quota rolls over every semester. ( More information)

Computer labs

Pomona currently has one (soon to be two) general computer lab as well as various department-run computer labs where you can print things, use some of the many programs installed, and do various other nifty things. ( More information)

E-mail

You get an e-mail account with 100 MB of storage, accessible either through webmail or an e-mail program. ( More information)

Software

Pomona has licenses that allow students to install Windows XP and Microsoft Office for free. ( More information)

Tempdisk

There is a temporary scratch disk that students can put files onto. The contents of the tempdisk are deleted once a week.

And last but not least...

Free tech support

Yes, it's free! ( Information about getting tech help)
