Real Alternative is an open source alternative to Real(TM) Media Player. It plays all real media formats, although it only partially supports streamed video (.smi or .smil). More info.

Real Player is listed on our page of bad programs due to its instabilities and tendency start civil wars with the other media players installed on your computer. The man advantages of Real Alternative are that it uses fewer system resources and does not require registration.
