Print Quota

These instructions have been moved to the ITS Knowledge Base [http://helpdesk.pomona.edu].
You will be redirected in a moment.

Every Pomona student is given $10.00 worth of print quota every semester. Using their print quota, students can print documents on any of the printers in the Pomona computer labs. Unused print quota rolls over at the end of each semester.

If you run out of print quota, you can always add more money to your balance.

Price guide

Type Price (per page) Example Printers (not comprehensive)
Black & white printer $0.02 ITBLB-HP9000, LYON-HP9000
Color printer $0.50 ITBLB-HP4600, LYON-HP4600
Poster printer $12.00 (ANSI C), $14.00 (ANSI D), $16.00 (ANSI E) ITBLB-HP800

Important notes

  • The amount you are charged does NOT depend on the document but rather on the printer. Thus, if you print 10 pages of black-and-white text on a color printer, you will still be charged $5 ($0.50 per page).
  • Your account is charged as soon as a job is sent to a printer. If you cancel the job later on, or feel that you should get your quota back for some other reason (e.g. the poster printer refused to print green for some reason), follow these instructions.
  • Double-sided pages only count as a single printed page as far as print quota is concerned. Thus, if you print your document double-sided, it will cost half as much.

How to Check Your Print Quota

1. Go to http://scribe.pomona.edu in a web browser and click "Check My Balance."

2. Log in to scribe with your username in the CAMPUS\username format and password. Your print quota will appear in the browser window. If the number is in parentheses, then it is negative and you will be unable to print any more until you add more money to it.

If you have questions about your current balance or need to purchase more quota, contact the ITS helpdesk at x18062.
