Opera

What is it?

Opera is a web browser? that is available for PCs, Macs, Linux, and many web-enabled cell phones. Like Firefox, it offers such features as tabbed browsing, pop-up blockers, and a simple and customizeable interface, but also comes with a nifty integrated search feature and a special Voice interface that lets you browse with spoken commands. Opera is free to download and use on your computer.

Due to Internet Explorer's security vulnerabilities, ITS recommends that you switch to an alternative browser such as Opera or Firefox.

How do I get it?

The Opera browser can be downloaded from their website, http://www.opera.com. Opera used to cost money, but the normal version is now completely free (the Opera developers offer a special cell phone version for $20).
