Why can't I just leave my laptop with you guys so it can get fixed?

While we would strongly prefer if you would stay while we worked on your computer, we realize that there are some circumstances where this is not realistic. If we inform you that it will be a lengthy data recovery or other fix that requires a lot of time we're more than happy to let you leave the computer and come back to pick it up. If you do leave your computer with us you will need to provide us with full administrative privileges to the computer by either giving us the password or letting us reset it. The moral of this story is that leaving your computer at the desk is the exception, not the rule. We have no problem with you leaving it here, but if it's going to be a quick fix, usually about an hour or less we would much rather have you hang out with us at the helpdesk while we're fixing it because it's a lot more work for us if you leave.
